3rd Floor & Re:Connected Releaseparty, 28.03.2008, Culture Box

re:connected 002 will be released in store very very soon.
already supported by: Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Konrad Black, Karotte, Steve Bug and many more..

Artist: Martinez
Title: Re:connected 002
Label: Re:connected
Format: Vinyl 12”
Cat.No.: RE002-6
Releasedate: 04.07.07
File Under: techno/minimal
Tracks: A1: Land-Crab
B1: Angvalt

After massive success with the first re:connected 12inch (supported by Ricardo Viillalobos & Loco Dice to name a few), we now returnn to you with another slamming two tracker. Two brand new techno cuts from Martinez, that he produced during this spring in his triple-o lab in Copenhagen. These tunes follow perfectly the style and sound that was laid out on re:connected 001. ‚

On the A side we start off with a more subtle, but growing track called „Land-crab“. The track kicks off with a strong driving sub woofer baseline, an irresistable 808 tom groove, some heavey snare and claps action and a metallic and dripping bleep bloop sound, drives the track steady forward. Later some playful effects enters and make the track peak but without destroying it’s floating minimal structure. „Land-crab“ keeps bubbling until the end just as subtle as the movement of a crab working his way on land.

B side offers a prime-time techno monster, that is called:„Angvalt“ (near to the Swedish word for a steamer, but made the word a bit more internation). Ist driven by its whobbly and rattling bass grooves, some submarin like sounds and heavey hi-hat action for pure dancefloor pleasure. The track then takes a turn into a break down that sort of gives you that feeling that you get when you had a little bit to much of the good stufff and suddenly find yourself on the dancefloor going into a state of mind where everything is sort of upside down and you don’t really know were you are or where you are going.. but then suddenly everything clears and you can hear the steady sound of the ponding 808 kick and in a few seconds you know exactly where you are again.. This is what „Angvalt“ is all about! ;o)

See ya around soon again for some more re:connection!

Martinez - 101 regards (3rd Floor Rec.) OUT NOW!!!!

In stores now..

Martinez - 101 regards - 3rd floor records

http://martinez.kluster.org/upload/3RD006_A.jpg

Artist: Martinez
Title: 101 Regards
Label: 3rd Floor records
Format: Vinyl 12”
Barcode: 807297 2172
Cat.No.: 3rd006-6
Release date: 28.03.2007
File Under: Minimal/Techhouse

Tracks:
A1: Mistlur
B1: Sliderglider
B2: 101 Regards

Once again, back is the incredible: Martinez. This Swedish
Copenhagener needs no introduction unless you’ve been
living under a rock (as in “ ’n’roll ” ). His first release on
3rd Floor Records is set to take the spitzenklasse quality
of the label to unprecedented heights.
The ball is opened with Martinez’ trademark sound, but
“Mistlur” is nevertheless combining old and new sound –
thereby extending the reach of the Martinez fan base.
Layering tons of hypnotic and enchanting sounds that
twirls in and out on top of the warm driving bass line in
perfect conjunction with the subtle theme play, this track
is an absolute killer and we pity the fool who sits by
without getting into a serious groove.
Sliderglider represents the minimal and bouncy sound on
this 12”. The primary bass line is deep and driving and
requires plenty of room, but the accompanying effects
and synths have a more minimal feel to them thus
resulting in a very effective sound. Once halfway through
the track a wobbly and bouncy synth kicks in and gives
the whole arrangement a staccato burst but it soon
leaves the scenery again only to let the before mentioned
bass monster continue on its path of dance floor
destruction.
Making sure no one is left alive on the dance floor “101
Regards” finishes off this electronic slaughter in a very
hypnotic and building fashion. The siren-ish theme synth
is continually building itself up and tearing itself down
leaving the listener in a state of trance. The basis of this
track is a more funky (mind the f-word!) blend of
percussions and the occasional bleep’n’squeak.
