after his collaboration with matthias tanzmann in summer 2009, martinez releases another stunning solo ep on moon harbour. within a few beats it’s clear who we have here – so distinctive has martinez’ sound become.
»cheesecake« has an elegant house flow, its pressure evolving throughout and held by the continually increasing chord which, when reduced to its essential elements, creates a unique tension in the track. this elegant groover will turn heads as its deepness grows to catch the listener at just the right time.
on the flipside »gourmet« is full and atmospheric a floating chord, an excited vocal and from time to time a string make this the track to start the night or the morning in a euphoric way.
in addition to the vinyl will be the exclusive digital track »passerby«, a techhouse track that rides straight down the line, catching up on the drive of martinez’ previous eps “momomowha” and “le circus”.

Drengene bag 24 REASONS præsenterer nu i fælleskab med den svensk/danske DJ og producer MARTINEZ en ny klubaften i København - OUR:HOUSE. Konceptet er simpelt og ligger vægt på en fælles musik-, visual- og festoplevelse for gæsterne såvel som for DJ’en. Aftenerne vil være fokuseret på internationale DJ’s i verdensklasse, samt speciel udsmykning af Vega i OUR:HOUSEs ånd.

Første gang vil være fredag den 11. December, og der er blevet booket den perfekte DJ til at skyde festen igang. Der er selvfølgelig tale om our:mann, Yassine Ben Achour, også bedre kendt som dj-fænomenet Loco Dice. Han startede sin karriere som resident dj på store klubber som DC10 og Cocoon Amnesia på Ibiza. I dag finder du Loco Dice i toppen af dj-eliten på niveau med stjerner som Sven Vath, Carl Cox og Richie Hawtin. Et eksempel er hans nytårsaften 08/09, hvor Loco Dice åbnede SENSATION WHITE i Dusseldorf før midnat. Derefter fløj han direkte med privatjet til den spanske klub Baracca, hvor han virkelig rykkede gulvet rundt. Han afsluttede aftenen ved siden af hans ven Luciano i Madrid til ”DEVOTHICA” festivalen. Som producer udsendte han i 2007 sit debutalbum ”7 Dunham Place”, der udkom på hans eget label ”Desolat”. Albummet formådede at blande hip-hop, house, techno og electronica på en helt speciel måde, der er blevet til hans unikke varemærke. Under hans albumtour i 2007 inviterede Martinez ham forbi Vega, og denne fantastiske optræden gør ham til et oplagt valg til åbningsaftenen af OUR:HOUSE!

In the last few months two faces have caused a massive stir at Moon Harbour HQ, the frenchman Seuil and Martinez from Copenhagen. And to take that momentum a step further, after their recent sets alongside Matthias Tanzmann at the monthly Moon Harbour Flights at the Distillery in Leipzig, Tanzmann invited them back to his nearby studio for what ended up being a very fruitful couple of recording sessions.
And the fruits of these collaborations are here for you all as two very special tracks on the split EP „Moon Harbour Joints Vol. 1“, each track combining the artists’ unique personal styles while at the same time giving us more than the sum of the parts.
The A-side is Martinez and Matthias Tanzmann rolling out a compactly arranged track, named „Ohh I don't know“, which is characterised by percussive and impulsive beats, a rythmic chord and engaging vocal samples, all adding to make a unique funk – direct, authentic and deep.
Tanzmann and Seuil’s „My 808 gently weeps“ also builds on and emphasises several layered vocal samples. The result this time is a deeper and more laid back affair, which will undoubtedly become the perfect soundtrack to many an after-party that has stretched long into the shining new day.
